Josh and Nancy accepted the position of Music Pastor at Abundant Life in August of 2004 after Pastor Doug Brodess asked them to consider the position. Since joining the staff, Josh and Nancy have served in many capacities including worship, media and briefly helping with pastoral roles in between pastors. Prior to Abundant Life, Josh and Nancy played a role on the worship team at various churches. Abundant Life is the first pastoral position they have held and credit much of their pastoral ministry growth the fine pastoral leadership that they have enjoyed while being on staff at Abundant Life.
Who Is He?
Pastor Josh met his bride shortly after moving to Dallas in his junior high school years during the early 90’s. Nancy was in the 7th grade while Josh was in the 8th. Though they never officially dated until after their high school years, there was a short time that they flirted with the idea (during his sophomore year and her freshman one). That ended somewhat quickly. Josh was uncomfortable dating her because his older brother was about to marry her older sister. In spite of this, the two stayed good friends throughout high school.
After Josh had completed his first year at Christ For The Nations, he finally realized he wanted to pursue the relationship again. In September of 1999, he took her out on their first “date.” She was already aware of God’s calling on his life. Neither wanted to mess around with traditional dating. Josh explained his feelings and said if she wanted to get married to him, he would like to pursue it. Just over 8 months later, they married on June 3, 2000.
They now have 3 children: Elijah (born in 2003), Isaac (born in 2003), and Gabriella (born in 2007). The live in Dallas near Dallas Baptist University. Behind his relationship with God, his family is next on the list of priorities. The kids are all actively involved in the Kidz Zone, Royal Rangers, Mpact Girls, Junior Bible Quiz, and soon to be HYPE Student Ministries at Abundant Life.

In addition to his photography endeavors, he enjoys media of all kinds and tackling big things that are new and unknown. The feeling of completing an unlikely project with success is a driving force in many projects that he begins such as being the “builder” of his home, designing and building the kids a large tree house and building a new deck and pergola in their backyard.
